SiteSupra VCS2P release date postponed again
SSDN
08.10.2002

The developers of revolutionary visual web authoring and content management tool SiteSupra, Latvian web solutions company Vide Infra Grupa SIA, announced today that release date of SiteSupra Visual Content Server 2.0 Pro (VCS2P) is postponed once again.

The SiteSupra VCS2P was initially supposed to release in late August - September 2002. The date was postponed to late September and now is postponed again till further notice. The reason for this decision is delay in introducing re-designed server's key features because of failure on the planning phase.

After the release of SiteSupra VCS2P Beta (build 730) in July 2002 and receiving a feedback from more than 50 beta-testers from all around the world, the development team decided to re-arrange several SiteSupra core features in order to reach better performance levels and better Custom Application handling. The initial plan for improvements' implementation introduced by August stated that the development won't exceed one to one and a half months. Unfortunately the estimation fell short to represent the real work's volume. By the end of September 2002 project's development specification was heavily enlarged by numerous tasks aroused because of extensive system's re-work.

It was decided at this stage to continue with the project without re-estimating the delivery time in order to save development teams' time and avoid further misinformation. The further notices will be published on www.sitesupra.com to inform partners and customers about the progress.

SiteSupra VCS2P, which has been in development since December 2001, is unique web authoring and content management platform because of one-of-its-kind visual environment that facilitates website objects' drag-and-drop behavior, reusable components, its ability to work from the regular MS IE web browser and access rights and approval workflow mechanisms. Using SiteSupra VCS2P web developers can build and maintain any corporate web initiatives from promotional websites to highly-sophisticated B2B exchanges. The system is being deployed in 20 countries across Europe and North America. British Airways is using SiteSupra 1.4 to maintain trade extranet for Eastern Europe and Eastern Mediterranean countries.

Vide Infra is determined to release highly anticipated product in the nearest future. The Beta version of the system and Developers' Network are remaining intact and are available at www.sitesupra.com
